Padmasambhava or Guru Rinpoche in Tibetan.
He is also known as the Second Buddha and was born spontaneously within a lotus in the middle of a lake.
In this Thangka he is portrayed sitting on a lotus surrounded by flowers
along with various offerings in a sea of clouds before him such as jewels,
elephant tusks, coral .
His smooth skin is slightly reddish shaded with carmine red and all the
garments are decorated with highly detailed motifs with gold. The edge
of blue garment has decorative stripes with designs made by polishing the
gold with pointed agate stone.
