The youthful Guru Padmasambhava sits gracefully on a lotus flower atop a sun and moon disc, a symbol of wisdom and compassion, set against snow-capped peaks and the serene Himalayan landscape. He is surrounded by delicate blossoms, while precious offerings appear within a sea of drifting clouds before him.
Unlike other thangkas on this website which are painted with natural pigments and dyes, this piece was created with gouache—a modern synthetic paint. As a result, the overall image has a brighter and more vivid tone.
