親鸞聖人

This piece is a reproduction of the renowned “Portrait of Shinran Shōnin”,  commonly referred to as the “Bearskin Portrait”,  housed in the Nara National Museum. Counted among the three most revered depictions of Shinran Shōnin—the founder of Jōdo Shinshū (True Pure Land Buddhism)—the original is renowned for capturing both his physical likeness and spiritual essence.
This reproduction is paired with a portrait of Rennyo Shōnin, symbolizing the continuity of the Jōdo Shinshū lineage from its originator, Shinran Shōnin, to his eminent successor, Rennyo Shōnin.
