Vajrasattva is an essential deity in Vajrayana practice, revered as the embodiment of purification and regarded as the peaceful manifestation of the wrathful deity Vajrakilaya. Traditionally portrayed with a stainless white body, he appears in this thangka in a luminous blue form, symbolizing his deep connection with Buddha Akshobhya. He sits gracefully upon the sun and moon discs, which rest upon a lotus seat, encircled by concentric layers of radiant rainbow light, richly embellished with pure gold.
