Triptych of the Phurba Dagger
- The triple-edged blade piercing illusion, anchoring wisdom -
It does not harm, but heals. It does not destroy, but transforms.
Guided by wrathful compassion, in the hands of a tantric practitioner, the Phurba becomes a nail of clarity — securing the ground upon which liberation may arise.

This triptych presents the Tibetan ritual dagger, Phurba, from three distinct aspects, each rendered on a Japanese tanzaku board (7.5 × 36.2 cm), exploring its symbolic depth through color, form, and symbolism.
- A fully colored Phurba, meticulously depicted against a white background —emphasizes the ritual dagger’s intricate form and vibrant detail.
- A golden line drawing on a vermilion red ground—accompanied by a measuring scale and illustrating the traditional proportions of the Phurba.
- A golden line drawing on an azurite blue background—featuring Tibetan script—conveys the symbolic essence of the Phurba.
With the kind supervision of Tulk Rigzin Pema Rinpoche and Khenpo Tseten Dorje, the Tibetan inscription was carefully reviewed and refined.
