Shinran Shōnin

- The Revered Founder of Jōdo Shinshū, The True Pure Land -

He taught that even the most defiled and forgotten are embraced in the light of infinite compassion.

Born into nobility, he chose the robe of humility. Turning from austerity, he walked the path of ordinary life— not in retreat, but in deep entrustment to Amida’s boundless vow.
