This thangka of Chimé Phagmé Nyingthig is rendered in the spacious and luminous style of the Karma Gadri tradition. At its center, White Tārā appears in yab-yum union with her consort. Above the central deity, Jamyang Khyentse Wangpo is depicted, representing the lineage through which this sacred longevity practice was revealed. While the background scenery was derived from the artist’s own concept, the main figure, Chimé Phagma, was faithfully reproduced from a thangka by Lhadre Tragyel, a revered painter from Sikkim and mentor to Konchog Lhadrepa, who served as principal of the Tsering Art School at Shechen Monastery and made lasting contributions to Tibetan thangka painting.
