One of the Eight Manifestations of Guru Padmasambhava, appearing in his most wrathful and fierce form.
His curly brown hair coils tightly, while his flaming eyebrows and beard radiate a fearsome energy. The third eye of wisdom on his forehead glares at enemies, as his upper fangs bite down upon his lower lip in a ferocious expression.
In his raised right hand, he holds a vajra (Dorje); in his left, a ritual dagger known as a phurba, adorned with a vajra and three wrathful faces. The sharp blade thrusts forward, as if to pierce the hearts of his foes.
The canvas of this thangka was prepared using traditional materials, including yellow ocher, to achieve a deeper, yelowish-toned surface. This unique base lends greater depth and vibrancy to the colors, amplifying the sacred and wrathful presence of the depicted deity.
