Vajrasattva

- Purifier of delusion, protector of the Vajra commitment -

This small thangka, approximately A4 in size, features Vajrasattva, the enlightened deity of purification.

His luminous presence, often likened to “a crystal” or “snow-covered mountains gleaming under sunlight”. In accordance with these metaphors, warm hues commonly seen in traditional thangkas are intentionally omitted. The composition is instead rendered with cool, translucent tones of blue and green, enhanced solely with pure gold pigment. Soft white halos surround Vajrasattva, with fine gold lines depicting radiant light, allowing the background to remain visible. Gold ornaments polished with agate add further radiance and elevate the refinement of the translucent blues and greens.
