A painting reproduction of a Japanese national treasure, a portrait of
Shinran Shonin who is the founder of Jōdo Shinshū(1173-1262). The original
portrait is called "Kumagawa no Goei" from 13th to 14th century
housed in the Nara National Museum in Japan. "Kumagawa no Goei"
is one of the three Goei of Shinran Shonin together with "Kagami Goei"
and "Anjo no Goei".
This painting is one of a set of two portraits of the masters of Jōdo Shinshu
together with the portrait of Rennyo Shonin.
